The Rest of 2006 in Pictures

Rather than rambling too much since it's been far to long since I've posted, I figured I'd just say it in pictures and captions. So, here goes the Chastain's life in pictures since September(ish).
We have managed to squeeze in only one real hike since our return and this is it-a favorite of mine, Lily Mountain. The summit has such beautiful views and its only 4 miles round trip. Just right for someone still in their first trimester :0)
In October we were able to visit Blayne's folks in California. Here's Mom and me at a lovely winery (no, I didn't have a glass). Blayne and his dad were working on web stuff, so we took off for a fun day of shopping and dining. We had a wonderful visit, but sadly, didn't take many pictures. Doh!
Jan is the first of our Ireland friends to come and visit (the first of many I do hope-hint, hint). Here he is seated between Kathy & Garrett as they enjoyed one of our favorite Greeley observances-margaritas at the Rio!
We subjected Jan to the craziness of our friends before getting away for a little mountain retreat. Here's Natalie and Blayne still at the Rio being a little silly. Its amazing, in only one sip she's "drunk Natalie" :0) Not really, but sort of.
Next up was the trip to Alabama for Thanksgiving. We celebrated Christmas as well with all of my family-and extended family too! My Aunt, Uncle and cousins came for dinner and Red (my sister in law's) dad and step mom were there too. The next few pics are from then.
Here's Blayne playing with my sisters sons, Bennett & Wilson-they are hilarious and so much fun! They are so full of energy and have such different personalities. We had tons of fun playing at the park and on the oh so cool jeep and most of all just playing in the dirt.
Here's my sister with her youngest-Mae. Isn't she a sweetie!
Here's me and my pregnant belly back on November 24th. I promise to do a more recent one soon :0) I'm sure we'll take a few this coming weekend and now that we have a computer set up to use for our pictures (mine was not handling the thousands of pictures well on it's little 30 gig hard drive-hmmmm, imagine that). I know, you've heard me say I'll be better about blogging, but hopefully time will prove me sincere this time around.
Here's my family! In back, my sister Carol, her husband Chris, my Dad holding little Mae, my Mom, and down front that's Wilson and Bennett on my brother David's lap, David's wife Redonna, and of course, me and then Blayne. It was so good to all be together. It had been a while.

Blayne's folks were able to come here for Christmas. They timed it just right between a blizzard and another winter storm. (more on that later). It was wonderful to have them in town and to celebrate the holiday and enjoy our winter wonderland.
Here's our Christmas dinner table-Kathy, Blayne, Greg, Mom & Dad
Here's the other end of the table-Cheryl, Chuck, Jen, Eric & Melody. I really was there-I'm taking the picture. We stuffed our faces and had a lovely time. Though I didn't get any hashbrown caserole leftovers because this baby isn't giving me much room and I still wasn't hungry enough for dinner leftovers. Doh!
Here we are out in the snow. We've had a interesting winter so far. Back about 6 weeks ago it hit -18 (that's -28 celsius) which was rediculously cold. Then we had a blizzard that dumped 20 inches of snow (that's 50.8 cm) on our little town here and 6 days later we had another 6 inches added to that. Darcy loves playing in the snow (as you can tell in this picture).

After setting off some fireworks in the freezing cold at the Mash's New Year's Party some of us got stuck in the stairwell enjoying our party favors a bit too much :0)
Well, if you've stayed with me this long, "good on ya" (as the Irish say). Or "well done" as Ron Burgundy would have it. Hope you all have a very Happy New Year. We're off this weekend to a wedding, and our baby is due in 7 weeks. Time flies. Love you lots!

Thanks for the update Deb!!! I still miss you guys and think about you lots even though you would have no indication of that from my lack of emailing! I will come visit you one of these days - would love to come and do a hike or two with you and your little one.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Lots of love,
Norah.

ps. I had Christmas #2 with my lovely younger sister Mary (who is living in Geneva working for the World Health Organization) and it felt like home having her around. She left on the 1st and Brian arrived on the 2nd. I'm thrilled that he will be here for 6 whole weeks. We are going to record an album and spend lots of time together! Woo hoo! xo

That was one long "comment".

Hey Deb, You look good and glad to see all is well. I can't believe your baby will be here soon. It's seems like you just told me you were expecting. Thanks for the comment on my blog, but more importantly, thanks for the prayers. Ivee is in desperate need of some rest, and being left alone. The sooner we can go home from the hospital the better. Keep praying, and keep in touch. Hope to see you next time your home. Love Hope

Thanks for the pictures Deborah! New Year's was fun but the picture didn't quite capture the violence (and showering of spit) that was going on with the party favors.
I do hope more of your friends from your Ireland adventure will come visit-they are fun! Keep posting on all our crazy times and I'm sure they will want to come be a part of it. :-)

Hi Deb!

Thanks for the update, sounds like things are going well and much fun is being had out in CO! All the snow sounds like fun (and a headache too of course) but looks like you are enjoying yourselves. We hung out with Doug & Alison for New Years. We went to our favorite Chinese place and came back to our house to play Scene It - I just got it for Christmas, and Trivial Pursuit the 90s edition. It was good fun. We rang in the new year with champagne (sparkling grape juice for me, champagne is yucky! :) but I definitely missed your fireworks. :)

I can't believe how little time there is until little baby girl Chastain will arrive! Loved all the pictures, I would definitely like to see an updated picture of your big belly. :) I'm working on finding cheap tickets for March, I'll keep you posted and make sure dates will work for you once I find something.

Thanks for sharing Hope's story. Please let her know they are all in our prayers. It is amazing how her fall was completely the Lord to reveal this cancer.

We'll talk soon, we need to catch up!

Love you!!
